Don’t forget to write.

I was muddling around the World Wide Web the other day and I came across this disturbing graphic from the American Fact Finder division of the U.S. Census Bureau:

ep county population

According to the chart, El Paso County’s population only grew by 48 people from July 1, 2014 to July 1, 2015.

Here is the same data for the City of El Paso:

el paso city population

I make that out to be a population increase of 558 without my calculator 442. (I was groggy. It was 5:30 in the morning and I hadn’t had my coffee.)

That’s not very much.

Of course, they’re just estimates, and they depend on the methodology of the U.S. Census Bureau.

I wonder what population trends the bond figures were based on.

  1. El Paso is a choice. It will never be Brooklyn or Seattle or Austin. It’s not for everyone. It has been up until recently at least authentic and unpretentious. That’s our real charm.
