Natural Causes are a three-piece out of Carrboro, North Carolina. I honestly hadn’t known about these guys until a few days ago, but can hear how they would fit the bill at our beloved Monarch. Sounding like sleazy garage punk, the band, surprisingly, hasn’t already signed with Burger Records. Mostly danceable (read: moshable) music, while at times pretty aggressive. I could totally see this stuff being featured in a skate video or something of that sort. Pardon the ill-informed comparison when I say the dudes remind me of a more in-your-face version of The Black Lips. They’ve got two records out, one being a self-titled, released early last month.
