Movin’ On Up

Rolando Pablos, the former CEO of the Borderplex Alliance, and former Texas Secretary of State, and maybe he had some other jobs as well, is running to be mayor of San Antonio.

From SACurrent.com:

Former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos appears to be the latest contender looking to serve as San Antonio’s next mayor, the Express-News reports.

Pablos is expected to file a campaign treasurer form Tuesday, which would make him the sixth person officially join the crowded race to replace termed-out Mayor Ron Nirenberg.

Bless his heart.

  1. The Mayoral election isn’t until May of 2025. A long way away. On top of that, he’s got very heavy Negative baggage. First appointed to the Texas Public Utility Commission by Rick Perry, he was then appointed by Greg Abbott as Secretary of State. Two VERY unpopular Republicans in San Antonio, plus, Pablos has NEVER won or run for an Election. Just appointed by his fellow Republicans. And, since 2005, no one has won a mayors race outside of City Council since 2005. The odds don’t look good. Especially since folks in S.A. will be reminded of the cruelties inflicted by Abbott.

    1. They moved the mayoral and City Council elections to November some years ago, ostensibly to encourage greater participation, but perhaps to bring in uninformed voters who are easier to bamboozle.

  2. The San Antonio Mayor’s race is May 3, 2025….and off the subject, but the San Antonio City Council just capitulated to a couple of fat cat developers to yes….build them a stadium in downtown SA! The fat cats used the same lame excuses that the owners of the Chihuahuas used…”more tourism, etc.” Shameful.
