The El Paso Police Shot Somebody, Maybe

From this story in the El Paso Times:

A man was shot and killed Thursday night in a parking lot of a Central El Paso retail strip near where another man was shot and killed Wednesday.

The man may have been shot by police and investigators were trying to determine what exactly occurred in the 4000 block of Dyer Street near Van Buren Avenue, police spokesman Sgt. Robert Gomez said.

Whoa. Aren’t the police supposed to know if they shot someone? Did the officer involved lawyer up, invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination? Do they need time to get their stories straight?

Was there a tremendous firefight between multiple combatants, with flying lead as thick as locusts?

Was he handcuffed and lying on the ground?

All these pesky questions.
