You’re familiar with the Onion, the satirical magazine and website that pokes fun at American foibles. Well, yesterday they posted this story, titled Horrifying Police Body Camera Footage Clearly Shows Current State Of America.
Following a traffic stop earlier this month by a University of Cincinnati police officer that ended in the shooting death of an unarmed black motorist, authorities confirmed Thursday that the disturbing video recorded by the officer’s body camera clearly and graphically shows the current state of America. “Thanks to this footage, everyone can see the brutal and unconscionable condition of the United States in the year 2015 with their own eyes,” said Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters, who noted that the violent nature of circumstances in America may make the footage disturbing for some to watch. . . . Deters added that, after watching the footage, it was hard to argue that the country was not to blame for the violence that was captured on film.
They’re not kidding.
