Fresh Seafood at Wholesale Prices
A hundred oysters for $100.
Yeah, I know, who can eat a hundred oysters? Well, me and the missus can, with the help of a friend or two.
How about five pounds of bay scallops for $20?
That’s cool, because we’ve got a freezer.
Sunwest Seafood Sales is located off of Hawkins, down there by the Valle Verde campus. From the freeway, you turn left into a long parking lot right before the curve, crossing two sets of railroad tracks before following a third.
They only take cash, and if you’re getting the oysters, bring an ice chest, to spare yourself a potential puddle in your trunk.
And you’re going to need an oyster knife to shuck those suckers.
The internet says that Sunwest Seafood Sales is open till 2 Monday through Friday, but you can call ahead to make sure: (915) 778-3835.
In a similar but different vein, have you ever tried The Sausage Shop?
If a hundred oysters sounds like more than you can chew, I recommend Mac’s Downtown.
