I’m sure you’ve heard the news: It’s All Good.
But that trite homily hides an ugly truth.
For the year ending July 1, 2015, the population of El Paso County grew less that one quarter of one percent.
According to estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the population was 835,593 in 2015. A year earlier, the population was 833,487. Those numbers represent an annual increase of only 2106 people. 0.25 percent, or a mathematical growth rate of .0025.
Good luck renting out all those new apartments.
