El Paso’s Sales Tax Receipts Stay Flat

According to the Texas State Comptroller, sales tax receipts for the City of El Paso were flat for the past reporting period.

Sales tax receipts for the latest available reporting period (presumably the month of October) grew 1.8% compared to the same period last year, while inflation ran 1.7%, which means that in real terms, sales tax receipts grew one tenth of one percent.

For the year to date, sales tax returns have grown 3.52%, which translates into 1.82% real growth.
