Yesterday we watched the 1964 remake of this movie, starring Lee Marvin and a 33-year-old Angie Dickinson. Today we’re showing the 1946 version of the movie, which were both based on an Ernest Hemingway short story.
This version features Burt Lancaster, Ava Gardner, and Edmund O’Brien. The story is slightly different and told from a different angle.
This version is different enough that watching the 1964 version won’t spoil it, at least not completely.
Check it out.
