We’re Number 2! (For Now)

Fort Worth has slightly higher property tax rates than El Paso. For now.

According to SmartAsset.com (killer website name), the average residential property tax rate in El Paso County is 2.128 percent. In Tarrant County (Fort Worth), the average residential property tax rate is 2.321 percent.

In El Paso, the per capita annual income is $16,768, and in Tarrant County it’s $27,333, according to Wikipedia.

But wait until we start paying for that Children’s Museum. Wait until that EPISD bond hits our tax bills. Wait till the rest of the boondoggles start hitting our bank accounts.

We’re number 2, but we try harder.
