Was That the Sound of Distant Thunder?

Some of my readers seem to think that the arena is a done deal, like an avalanche or a tsunami that we can’t avoid.

I understand that when the City’s attorneys found out that Max Grossman’s lawyers were an ex-Texas Supreme Court Justice and the ex-General Counsel to the Texas Supreme Court, the contraction of their sphincters was audible, like a baby clapping hands.

Of course, good lawyers don’t win bad cases, except sometimes. The Declaratory Judgment hearing has good lawyers on both sides, so this hearing will probably be decided based on the merits of the arguments and not on the eloquence or theatrics of the participants.

Will truths be revealed? Will we learn the secrets of an opaque decision-making process?

One can only hope.
