Here’s Part 2 of the Arizona Republic’s reporting on the public impunity of Border Protection Agents. It covers the killing of Anastasio Hernandez Rojas while in custody near the Mexican border. It also features a video of Hernandez handcuffed, on the ground, being beaten and Tasered by about a dozen Border Patrol agents.
As a result, the Hernandez Rojas case has prompted far less public outrage and criticism than the Rodney King case. More than three years later, none of the officers involved has been charged with any crimes, and the Department of Homeland Security has refused to say whether any have been disciplined.
