The EPISD School Board claims that recommending less than what the Bond Committee asked for would be “disrespecting” the committee.
In the words of the Superintendent, Bullshit.
I’m sure the committee was flattered, and cajoled, and led down a primrose path to exactly the conclusion the Board wanted. It there had been any meaningful dissent, the administration would have steamrollered and filibustered and ignored it until the dissenter went away.
Now the Board is abdicating any responsibility so they can put all the blame on the Committee. After all, we wouldn’t want to disrespect the well-meaning dupes.
I don’t see how this process generates better results than the outright corruption we had before.
