It depends on who you are

Remember just a few short years ago, when City Council was circumventing state law to award El Paso a Triple A ballpark in downtown? And then that same City Administration, and the succeeding one, fought the release of the private emails in which City Council discussed that very public business. Remember that?

That debacle spanned two City administrations, and included the current Mayor, City Attorney, and half the current City Council.

Those vampires still walk among us like nothing ever happened.

There was no hue and cry from print media in town for those questionable acts. Remember It’s All Good?

I guess we’re trying to get back on track after that ethical derailment, because now the dead tree media, and the City Council, are trying to lynch the current City Manager for a couple of lapses.

I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve it. I’m just saying what a difference a couple of years make.

    1. The lawsuit stretched into his term. He could have reversed the City’s position. Many of us were hoping he would do that. Alas, he did not.

  1. Funny how just very recently, city council awarded Tommy Gonzales an unsolicited $60k a year salary raise after only a year in that position. Funny indeed.
