Can Juarez survive its extreme makeover?

Calle de la Paz is seven blocks long, two blocks south of Dieciseis de Septiembre in downtown Juarez. It’s western terminus is behind the Mercado Cuahtemoc, near the cathedral. It’s eastern end is close to where Avenida Juarez would intersect it, if Avenida Juarez made the effort. Four hundred years ago, this is the place where settlers and the indigenous gathered to trade. These days they still do, though the few Tarahumara selling herbs on the sidewalk have a much smaller piece of the pie.
